Eine Dokumentation im Stil des Cinéma Vérité: Als roter Faden zieht sich der blaue Kittel des Liftmannes Albertas durch die lose verknüpften Alltagsszenen. Albertas steht am Personallift eines Krankenhauses und raucht. Zwei Leichen hat er heute transportiert, darunter ein Kleinkind, das eine Überdosis Tabletten erwischt hat. „So ein Unglück“, kommentiert er, und nimmt einen Zug. „Albertas steht täglich in einem Aufzug, den fast niemand benutzt. Seit Jahren schlägt er dort die Zeit tot und wartet, dass jemand rauf oder runter fahren will. Diese Routine, die für andere sinnlos wirken mag, ist für ihn bedeutungsvoll. Indem er hier ist, bleibt er Teil der Gesellschaft. Er lebt mit der Zeit, und die Zeit lebt in ihm.“ (A. Matelis)

A documentary in Cinéma Vérité style: The recurrent theme in the loosely connected scenes of everyday life is the blue coat of the liftman Albertas. Albertas stands by the personnel lift of a hospital and smokes. He has transported two corpses today, including a small child that had an overdose of pills. “What bad luck,” he comments and takes a puff. “Every day, Albertas stands in a lift that hardly anyone uses. For years he has been killing time there, waiting for someone wanting to go up or down. This routine may seem senseless to others, but it is meaningful to him.
