Die Kooperation von Crossing Europe Filmfestival Linz mit Linz 2009 – Kulturhauptstadt Europas ermöglichte für 2007 eine Trailer-Neuproduktion. Der Auftrag dafür erging an die in Linz lebende Fotografin, Animations- und Filmkünstlerin Karo Szmit. Der Blick aus der Vogelperspektive auf einen Flughafen steht am Beginn von Szmits Animationsfilm intercut. Später wird dem Blick hinaus auf das Meer der Blick hinein in unterschiedlich bespielte Monitore gegenübergestellt. Am Ende gleitet die Kamera in einer den Anfang spiegelnden Bewegung über eine am Boden liegende Mehrfachsteckdose, in die verschiedene Kabel münden. Stromnetz und internationales Flugwegenetz scheinen nun auf geheimnisvolle, fraktale Weise miteinander verbunden. (mz)

The cooperation between the Crossing Europe Film Festival Linz with Linz 2009 – European Capital of Culture has made possible a new trailer production for 2007. The commission was awarded to the Linz based photographer, animation and video filmmaker Karo Szmit. Szmit‘s animation film intercut starts with a bird‘s-eye view of the airport. Later the outward view to the sea is contrasted with the inward view to monitors displaying different images. In the end the camera glides into a movement reflecting the beginning across an extension cord with multiple sockets lying on the floor with various electrical cords attached. Electrical power network and the international flight route network now seem to be connected in a mysterious, fractal way. (mz)
