Astronautin, Försterin oder Cartoonzeichnerin – mögliche Berufsvorstellungen der 23-jährigen Rakel. Die Studentin verbringt ihre Zeit gerne mit Zeichnen, Trinken und damit, high zu werden. Doch ihre Zukunftspläne werden über den Haufen geworfen, als sie herausfindet, dass sie schwanger ist. Und Rakel ist sich nicht einmal sicher, wer der Vater ist! Sie hatte wirklich alles geplant, außer Mutter zu werden. Als sich ihr Baby auch noch als maskentragende Cartoon-Figur manifestiert, die ihr unangenehme Fragen stellt, ist sie mit den Nerven am Ende. Astronaut or beer taster, globetrotter or forester, but above of all, comic book artist. Rakel can imagine many things for her future. But there's one thing the young woman definitely doesn't want to be: a mother. Rakel's plans go out of the window when she learns that she has already been pregnant for over six months. It is too late for an abortion, and Rakel can no longer ignore the unborn baby. After six months of not noticing it at all, it now creeps into her already chaotic life in the form of a comic foetus. Mixing drawings with live-action film in an original and humorous way, the refreshing coming-of-age drama NINJABABY always manages to hit the right note. (Zurich Film Festival)
