Good Favour
Irgendwo in den Wäldern Zentraleuropas lebt zurückgezogen eine Gruppe frommer Christen. Doch nach einer Serie beunruhigender Vorfälle und einem schweren Verlust erschüttert eine Glaubenskrise die Gemeinde. Da kommt ein fremder junger Mann an, offensichtlich schwer traumatisiert und verwundet. Die Gemeinschaft nimmt ihn auf und pflegt ihn gesund, und er beginnt sich an das bäuerliche Leben nach der Heiligen Schrift anzupassen. Das Geheimnis seiner Herkunft bleibt jedoch bestehen. Als durch sein Handeln eine Tragödie verhindert wird, stellt ihn die Gemeinschaft auf die Probe.
A young man stumbles out of the woods, wounded and desperate. A village of devout Christians welcomes him with open arms, nursing him back to health and giving him a place to stay. They don't know who he is or where he came from, and the children in the village follow him closely, as if he possessed some magical powers. Is he a force for good? Or is he a malevolent spirit tasked with punishing them for their sins and hypocrisy? These questions hang in the air in Rebecca Daly's Good Favour. Rebecca Daly
Rebecca studied theatre at Trinity College and completed an MA in film (DIT). Her first short, “Joyriders” (2006), funded by the Irish Film Board, won the IFTA for Best Short and several international awards. Her first feature, “The Other Side Of Sleep”, premiered in Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival and in the Discovery section of Toronto International Film Festival (2011).
