Gogita's New Life
Nach vierzehn Jahren im Gefängnis ist für Gogita die Zeit gekommen, in ein normales Leben zurückzukehren. Seine Erwartungen sind bescheiden: Ein eigenes Haus möchte er besitzen, am besten gemeinsam mit einer netten Frau. Jedoch: Wer interessiert sich schon für einen armen Bauern und Exhäftling, der noch immer bei seiner Mutter lebt? Im Internet trifft er Maka. Sie ist weder jung, noch besonders hübsch, doch sie kann backen wie keine andere. Gogita und Maka beginnen, große Pläne zu schmieden, ohne sich je getroffen zu haben. Die tragikomische Geschichte eines einfachen Mannes und einer einfachen Frau, die nichts weiter wollen, als geliebt zu werden.
After fourteen years in prison, the time has come for Gogita to return to his normal life. He’s longing for a home of his own and to marry a nice woman. But who would be interested in a poor farmer and ex-con that still lives with his mother? Then he meets Maka on the Internet. She’s not that young anymore, and she’s not the prettiest girl in the world, but she can bake delicious cakes. They’re soon making grand plans without even having met. What unfolds is a tragicomic tale of a simple man and woman looking for love in a world that’s placing high demands on them, a tender and humorous glimpse into the life of those two people.
Director's Biography
LEVAN KOGUASHVILI, born in 1973 in Tbilisi, studied film production at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Georgia State Film University and worked as a journalist for Georgian television. Between 1995 and 1999, Koguashvili studied film directing at the Russian Film School – VGIK in Moscow.
