A Surplus of Wind
Zwei Männer – einer im Westen, einer im Osten, Brüder. Auf beiden Seiten ist das Leben gedämpft, einsam, eintönig. Hier werden Fenster angestrichen, Schalter neu verkabelt, und Zigaretten geraucht; dort werden Längen geschwommen, für Boxringkämpfe trainiert, Geschäfte abgewickelt. Was verbindet diese Dinge?
Two men – one in the West, one in the East, brothers. In both places, life is muted, solitary, nondescript. Here, windows are painted, switches rewired and cigarettes smoked; there, lengths swum, boxing matches prepared for, transactions made. What is it that links these things?
Director's Biography
Dane Komljen, born 1986, studied directing at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade and currently attends the Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains in France. Dane’s previous short films have been shown in Cannes and Rotterdam, among others. VIŠAK VJETRA was shown at the Festival del film Locarno and the Sarajevo Film Festival.
