Das Schicksal führt eine junge Frau nach Karelien in Russland, nahe der russisch-finnischen Grenze. Dort begegnet sie einer alten Frau, Santra, welche die letzte Verbindung zur karelischen Kultur ihrer Ahnen darstellt. Im Film geht es darum, wie schwer und wie schön es ist, ein Zuhause zu finden.
Fate brings a young woman to idyllic Karelia in Russia, near the Russian-Finnish border. She meets an old woman, Santra, who represents the only remaining link to the Karelian culture of her ancestors. This film is about the difficulty and beauty of finding a home.
Director's Biography
Miia Tervo, born 1980, is a filmmaker from Lapland and studied at the Turku Arts Academy and University of Art and Design Helsinki, where she is now a postgraduate student. Her previous films have been shown at over 100 festivals. She writes poetry.
