Optical Sound

Am Anfang steht die Musik. Die Komposition führt Regie und zeichnet den Lichtton in das Bild. Dem Lichtton folgen abstrakte Bilder, die die Musik nachzeichnen und visualisieren. Der Ton als Bild im Kopf. Das Ausgangsmaterial sind Vor- und Nachspänne von Kinofilmen, die zum Bild- und Tontest von Projektoren verwendet werden. (Elke Groen)

It starts with music. The composition directs the picture and draws the sound-on-film onto the image. The sound-on-film generates abstract pictures that visualize the music. The source material is taken from opening and closing credits of feature films, used as picture and sound tests for projectors. (Elke Groen)
