Untended Outskirts
Das Ausgangsmaterial zeigt eine Gewaltszene: vier miteinander kämpfende Männer im öffentlichen Raum. Alle 3200 Frames dieses YouTube-Videos wurden auf Papier ausgedruckt, manuell bis an die Grenze der Zerstörung bearbeitet und wieder zusammengefügt. Der Akt der Bearbeitung nähert sich der Brutalität des ursprünglichen Kampfes an.
The starting material shows a scene of violence. Four men fighting with one another in public space. All 3200 frames of the YouTube video were printed on paper, manipulated by hand almost to the point of destruction, and then conjoined again. The act of manipulation approximates the brutality of the original fight.
