While the electro-folksong “roadtruckers” by Folklabor revolves around the search for freedom “on the road”, the video shows animated waiting rooms. The pathos of escape from the world, the journey into a great monotonous empty space, are contrasted with leisurely camera pans through the small, pathos-free monotony of waiting rooms.
Director's Biography
Karo Szmit, geb. 1978 in Warschau. Studierte Experimentelle Gestaltung an der Kunstuniversität Linz. Arbeitsschwerpunkte Animationsfilm, Zeichnung, Rauminstallation. Lebt in Wien.
