In co-operation with YOUKI International Youth Media Festival we once again invite two filmmakers to screen their first videos in comparison with their recent works and to answer all questions regarding work in the film sector in an open discussion format. Our guests are actor/director Brigitta Kanyaro and cinematographer/director Michael Schindegger. A particular focus will be on their path to being a filmmaker and the question of what problems, obstacles and setbacks they have faced and creative developments they have undergone. The 60- to 90-minute conversation and its moderation will be conducted by last year’s Young Programmers, who will complement the talk from time to time with short clips from our guests’ films.

Brigitta Kanyaro is YOUKI’s guest. Born in Hungary in 1991, she is a Romanian actor and director, who graduated from the Filmacademy Wien (Acting School for Theater and Film) in 2013. Since then, she has had many parts in film and television, such as DIE WASCHMASCHINE (2020), MEIN FLEISCH UND BLUT (2016) or in the ORF series WALKING ON SUNSHINE (2020) and LETZTER WILLE (2018).

Michael Schindegger is the guest of YAAAS!. He was born in Vienna in 1981. In 2003, after training as a photographer and a one-year stay in Bucharest, he started studying cinematography at the Film Academy Vienna with Christian Berger. As a cinematographer, he has worked on feature films like L’ANIMALE (2018) and CIAO CHÉRIE (2017) as well as documentaries like FEMINISM WTF (2023) or TIERE UND ANDERE MENSCHEN (2017).
