Animals
Pol ist ein schüchterner, unsicherer Jugendlicher, der mit dem Erwachsenwerden kämpft und ein wenig aufregendes Leben führt. Er wohnt bei seinem älteren Bruder Llorenc und geht noch ins Gymnasium – seine Freizeit verbringt er mit seinem geheimnisvollen Freund Deerhof, was seinem Bruder nicht gefällt. Eines Tages kommt ein neuer Mitschüler in Pols Klasse. Diesen umgibt eine düstere Aura, deren Pol sich nicht erwehren kann. Eine Serie unerklärlicher Ereignisse zieht die Jugendlichen in ihren Bann, was zur Folge hat, dass sich Dinge zu verändern beginnen und die Grenzen zwischen Realität und Fiktion zunehmend verschwimmen.
Pol is a teenager with a seemingly calm life: he lives with his brother and is still in high school. However, Pol has a secret: Deerhoof, a cuddly teddy bear who thinks, moves around and with whom he shares his best moments. Life goes on as normal until the arrival of Ikari, an enigmatic student who seems to be hiding something. Pol is fascinated by his new classmate and attracted to the dark side he harbors. An inexplicable death and a series of strange events will transform the meek student's routine into a fantastic adventure which will take over their lives.
Director's Biography
Marçal Forés, born 1981 in Spain. He studied at the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya (ESCAC) and made his Master's degree at the National Film & Television School in London in 2007. Over the years he has made several short films which were shown at Venice Biennale 2007, among others. ANIMALS is his first feature film, which competed at San Sebastian Film Festival and Sitges Film Festival in 2012. // Films (selected): YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!
