Violence des échanges en milieu tempéré

Philippe Seigner (Jérémie Rénier), a very young business consultant, is sent out on a test by his boss. He is to prepare an old factory for takeover and to evaluate which employees will be permitted to continue working there in the future and which are to be let go. Director Jean-Marc Moutout uses this everyday story from working life to shape a drama, in a coolly distanced tone, about individual ethics versus economic logic. Starting from a manager still lacking in practice, he not only demonstrates that career and social responsibility are mutually exclusive, but also how the profession gradually starts to deform the character.
