The Unloved
The Unloved is a deeply personal account of a young girl struggling to survive in a hostile world. Lucy is eleven years old. Neglected by her mother and father, she finds herself placed in the care of a local children‘s home. We follow Lucy‘s struggle to cope with the system, negotiate new dangers and find a friend and a true home. It is Lucy‘s spirit and self-belief, coupled with a strong religious faith, which offer hope and redemption against all the odds.
Director's Biography
Samantha Morton, geb. 1977 in Nottingham, England. Stand schon im Alter von dreizehn Jahren das erste Mal vor der Kamera und spielte unter anderem in folgenden Filmen mit: Morvern Callar (R: Lynne Ramsay, 2002), Minority Report (R: Steven Spielberg, 2002), Code 46 (R: Michael Winterbottom, 2003), Enduring Love (R: Roger Michell, 2004; Nominierung beim British Independent Film Award als beste Schauspielerin), Mister Lonely (R: Harmony Korine, 2007), Synecdoche, New York (R: Charlie Kaufman, 2008).
