The First Generation - Memoirs of Cambodia
In the seventies and eighties, tens of thousands of people fled from the terror regime of the Red Khmer in Cambodia. Most settled down in the US, Canada, France, Australia or elsewhere, but a few hundred found a new home in Austria. In The First Generation five immigrants from Cambodia remember their impressions after arriving – a touching documentary feature about provenance, the feeling of belonging, and a hope for the future. „We want to show that people who had to leave their country because of war have many experiences and stories to share. Director's Biography
Abraham Pol, Kemara Pol
Abraham Pol studied business administration in Linz and works in sales. His younger brother Kemara Pol studied journalism in Vienna and now lives between Berlin and Vienna working as a visual storyteller, multimedia journalist and photographer. “The First Generation – Memoirs of Cambodia” is the directing debut of the two brothers who grew up in Linz.
