Director's Biography
Gareth Evans, born in Wales, Great Britain, graduated with an MA in scriptwriting for film and television from the University of Glamorgan in 2003. Evans is best known for bringing the Indonesian martial art, "pencak silat", into world cinema with his films MERANTAU and THE RAID. THE RAID won the Midnight Madness Award at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2011.
