Milltown, Montana
Directed by Rainer Komers, Milltown, Montana is a half-hour look at the scenery we take for granted, but also at the scarred earth of a dam’s removal and a century of mining waste. Milltown, Montana, is visibly scarred by man and trapped in a post-industrial phase of standstill. By alluding to its former wealth but showing the area’s actual lack of prospects, the film dramatically undermines the image of the American Dream.
Director's Biography
Rainer Komers, geb. 1944 in Guben. Mitarbeit im Studentischen Filmclub Bonn. Lehrauftrag für Siebdruck und Filmstudium an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Film- und Kameraprojekte in Alaska, Bosnien, Ecuador, Jemen, Lettland, Litauen, Polen, Russland. Filmseminare in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Münster und Wien.
