In the form of a cinematic memorial to his grandmother Fatma Selek, who came to Austria in 1973, Tolga Karaaslan recounts the personal story of his family’s migration.

Director's Biography
Tolga Karaaslan (*1994, Wels, Upper Austria) is a filmmaker and media artist with Turkish roots. Through films, videos and installations he addresses topics such as the search for identity or growing up and living between multiple cultures. His art pursues a visual language and atmospheric narrative in its camera work, lighting mood and montage style, giving the characters time to unfold in their world. He studies media art at the University of Arts Linz.
