Unexpected confessions complicate a woman‘s secret plan to leave her dead-end existence in dreary New Belgrade in Love and Other Crimes, Serbian helmer Stefan Arsenijevic‘s self-assured feature debut. Thirty-something Anica feels restless and decides to secretly empty her boyfriends safe, a small-time mobster who owns a solarium and runs a protection racket, so she can start a new life somewhere else. Then Stanislav, a young man from Anica’s neighbourhood who also works for her boyfriend, admits his love for Anica, and her plan begins to falter.
