Libya, September 2011. The rebels have conquered Tripoli, and only three cities are still held by pro-Gaddafi troops. During the final weeks of the revolution the filmmaker traveled through the country, capturing snapshots of the situation. Fritz Ofner is currently working on a new documentary: Beirut Blend will be a filmic homage to Jim Jarmusch’s Coffee and Cigarettes and to the Lebanese capital Beirut.
Director's Biography
Fritz Ofner, born 1977 in Styria, Austria. He studied journalism and ethnology in Vienna. After graduating he worked as an NGO activist, freelance journalist and TV producer. Extensive travels through Asia, Africa and Latin America led him to making documentaries. In 2011 he received the Axel Springer Award for his TV documentary FROM BAGHDAD TO DALLAS.
