Sophie is a brilliant high school student. Encouraged by her math teacher, she leaves the family farm to attend a scientific preparatory class. Through encounters, successes, and failures, and in the face of fierce competition, Sophie realizes that her dream of entering Polytechnique represents more than just a contest; it's a genuine challenge of social ascent. With his third feature film, Swiss director Frédéric Mermoud successfully tells a story about the challenges of social mobility and portrays a determined protagonist wonderfully portrayed by Suzanne Jouannet.
