Germania

The film Germania explores young men on their search for identity in a time of imper- manence and constant change. In observing scenes, the film approaches the members of the duelling fraternity Corps Germania. For its members, it is a living democracy and a school for life. For outsiders, it is a claustrophobic cosmos with strict rules, rigid hierarchy and strange rituals. Director Lion Bischof follows the group of young men in between singing sessions, drinking games and fencing rituals. A coming-of-age film within an elitist and conservative setting.
