The Bad Field
The constantly changing view from my former room in my parents’ house, of the bad field across from it, is the driving force for this film. The film is the interface and projection surface for all the themes treated: childhood, the Second World War, the disappearance of the rural world, traffic, music. The film presents a collision of layers of time as well as the cycles of the seasons. Then – now. Spring, summer, autumn, winter. What do you find, when you dissect a place?
Director's Biography
BERNHARD SALLMANN, geb. 1967 in Linz. Studium der Publizistik, Germanistik und Soziologie in Salzburg und Berlin sowie Filmregie an der HFF „Konrad Wolf“ Potsdam-Babelsberg. Seit 2004 freier Filmemacher, lebt in Berlin. Sallmann erhielt zahlreiche Preise, u.a. 2009 den DEFA Förderpreis für Träume der Lausitz.
