Birgitta's Friends

BIRGITTA’S FRIENDS is a documentary about an Austrian woman whose years in Israel have an important impact on her life. Five people, who are connected only by their friendship with Birgitta, who couldn't be more different in life experience and view of the world. From Mohammed, in Palestinan resistance since his childhood, to Noah, Holocaust survivor and conservative Zionist. A meeting, a "naive" plan, stories of people whose life experiences form who they are, who live close to one another but still far apart … (Christian Kogler)

Director's Biography
Christian Kogler, born in Upper Austria, has loved storytelling since his childhood. In his Samuel Holzmann children books and his teaching jobs at Austrian and Irish schools and now at the Pädagogische Hochschule Oberösterreich, he tries to bring in a “global perspective” which has been formed by extensive travels all over the world. Documentary filmmaking adds the option to let other people tell their stories, an artistic approach he more and more enjoys.
