Až do mesta aš
Made in Ash
A naive teenage girl heads west from Slovakia to the Czech-German border, dreaming of a better life, but succumbing to exploitation as hard times and discrimination narrow her options and dispel her illusions. Due to the low cost of living, the unemployment and the proximity to the borders, the area has become an ideal place for middle aged Germans who are looking for female company. Non-professional actors and handheld camera punctuated with interludes of animation contribute to a gritty but lyrical portrayal of border town realities, directed by newcomer Iveta Grófová and produced by Ivan Ostrochovský.
