„Ich mache mir große Sorgen um meine Zukunft, aber es ist mir klar: Das einzige Leben, das ich haben will, ist dieses.“ Paula und Rodrigo sind junge, queere KünstlerInnen, wie viele andere in Berlin. Weil sie unbedingt auffallen wollen, bilden sie ein radikales Performance-Kollektiv. Doch im Privatleben muss Rodrigo allein mit allem klar kommen. Der Proberaum ist ein Raum der Utopien, aber schaffen sie es, durch die Tür hinaus zu gehen? PERFORMANCE spielt mit den Konventionen der Fiktion wie auch der Dokumentation, was sich auf der Bühne befindet und was auf dem Spiel steht. Der Film beschreibt verschiedene Bewegungen: Migration innerhalb und außerhalb der Europäischen Union, die Entwicklungen der Stadt Berlin, die Suche nach Liebe und Identifikation.

Their drive to stand out leads them to form a radical performance collective. But in Rodrigo’s personal life, he needs to handle things by himself. The rehearsal room is a space of utopias, but can they make it out the door? PERFORMANCE is a feature film that plays with the conventions of fiction and documentation, what is on stage and what is at stake. It describes several movements: migration within and outside of the European Union, the developments of the city of Berlin, and the search for love and identification.
