Lab of Cultural, Creative and Festival Journalism // 2022 - 2023
Das LAB of cultural, creative and festival journalism ist eine Initiative des Europäischen Festivalnetzwerks MIOB und wird vom Europäischen Filmfestival Sevilla koordiniert. Es handelt sich um ein Projekt, das von der Europäischen Union im Rahmen der Aktion der Filmfestivalnetzwerke mitfinanziert wird und für die ausgewählten Stipendiaten kostenlos ist.
Online Audience Award MIOB IN SHORTS // Herbst 2022
Für den Online-Audience Award MIOB IN SHORTS (€ 1.000) gingen 15 aktuelle europäische Kurzfilme ins Rennen, nominiert von den MIOB-Mitgliedern, die im Herbst 2022 online zur Abstimmung auf www.miob.info standen. Der Gewinner*innenfilm von MIOB IN SHORTS, AMYGDALA (GR, 2021) von Maria Hatzakou, wurde beim FilmFestival Cottbus im November 2022 ausgezeichnet, das auch für die Durchführung dieses Wettbewerbs verantwortlich ist.
MIOB NEW VISION AWARD // Sommer 2022
Der MIOB NEW VISION AWARD (€ 3.000; Langfilme) zeichnet einen ersten oder zweiten europäischen Spiel- oder Dokumentarfilm aus, der eine breitere internationale Anerkennung verdient. Der MIOB NEW VISION AWARD 2022 – organisiert und umgesetzt von Crossing Europe im Frühsommer 2022 – ging an MURINA (HR/SI/US/BR 2021) von Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović und wurde im Rahmen des MIOB-Partnerfestivals „European Film Festival Palić“ (Serbien) im Juli 2022 vergeben.
GREEN CHARTER // seit 2019
Ein Beispiel im Bereich Umwelt- und Klimaschutz ist etwa die Realisierung der „Green Charter For Film Festivals“, ein kostenloses Tool für Filmfestivals, um ihren Ressourcenverbrauch in den Bereichen Verpflegung, Abfall, Energie und Transport standardisiert zu erfassen und daraus Einsparungspotenziale abzuleiten. Die Grundidee dafür entstand auf Basis von Workshops beim Les Arcs European Film Festival (2019) und beim International Film Festival Rotterdam (2020), die Weiterentwicklung zur gemeinschaftlichen Nutzbarkeit wurde erst durch die Finanzierung seitens des CREATIVE EUROPE Programms der EU als MIOB-Projekt ermöglicht.

Für den Online Audience Award MIOB IN SHORTS (€ 1.000) gehen 15 aktuelle europäische Kurzfilme ins Rennen, nominiert von den MIOB-Mitgliedern, die ab 1. Juni in vier Blocken und in monatlichem Wechsel online zur Abstimmung auf www.miob.info stehen. Der Gewinner*innenfilm von MIOB IN SHORTS ging an LAS MALDITAS / THE ACCURSED von Bruno Odeja Molina und Beatriz Hohenleiter Márquez und wurde beim FilmFestival Cottbus im November 2021 ausgezeichnet.

Our joint activities for the coming months include the following topics: the future design of our festival network and development of best-practice models for cooperation, workshops on gender programming and audience design, staff exchange, strategies for climate-friendly film festivals, training of young film journalists and film literacy projects, industry meetings and two new film awards.

Agenda: discharge of the MIOB CHARTA (The document was approved by all seven partners and is intended for future cooperation and covers all levels of networking) and discussion of the activities of the member festivals and common activities in the near future.

Presentation of the joint programme section „Time Will Tell“ (six film programmes reflecting the aftermaths of the German reunification process), co-curated by the Trieste Film Festival and the FilmFestival Cottbus.

Agenda: encouragement to extend the collaboration between the festivals (both cultural and economic), presentation of best-practice models, presentation of potential fields for networking (marketing, digitalization, film education, ticketing, staff), future challenges (e.g. expansion of festivals, implementation of the new MEDIA program)
