Greetings From The Woods
With visual precision and attention to detail, feature film debutant Mikel Cee Karlsson captures people and their existence in a small village deep inside the Swedish forests. Over a period of four years, music video director and former professional skateboarder Mikel Cee Karlsson captured singular scenes from a part of today’s Sweden where reality inexorably seeps in behind the well-kept hedges. With a mixture of playful precision, humor and melancholy he portrays people‘s dreams, their relationships and everyday destinies. Hälsningar från skogen is a visual and personal portrait of Swedish rural life stripped bare.
Director's Biography
Mikel Cee Karlsson, geboren 1977 in Varberg. Beendete 2005 sein Regiestudium in Göteborg. Seit 1999 arbeitet er als freischaffender Fotograf und Filmemacher. Er realisierte preisgekrönte Kurzfilme und zahlreiche Musikvideos, manche davon zusammen mit dem Regisseur Andreas Nilsson für Musiker wie zum Beispiel José González, Bonde do Role und The Perishers.
