Callas, Darling
She appears out of the blue, at a gas station in the middle of nowhere, after a break in a drive to nowhere in particular. Marie is behind the wheel, but suddenly she is no longer alone in the car. Gerlinde becomes her passenger, confidante, and friend. The encounter begins to change both of their lives. Soon they are heading south, towards the Balkans, as though all questions about the future will be decided there. A road movie in the truest sense of the genre: the external journey becomes an internal one. (Diagonale)
